Read about Jenny Cruger’s ethereal maternity portraiture session after admiring these beautiful images:
Adrienne’s maternity session took place in my studio.
This amazing natural light studio is actually a room in a historic home in downtown Franklin that’s been turned into a more commercial space for a few different offices, and other businesses.
It’s a tiny square, but the location and lighting are wonderful so it’s perfect for me! The walls are painted gray and I photograph with one large natural light window and another (more covered) in the opposite corner of where I shoot. Everything is white, natural, organic, and calming for my clients both babies and adults!
Adrienne was excited to include her sweet husband in a few portraits so they could have an intimate (but not overly so) maternity session together, focusing on their excitement about their baby.
Like many of my clients, Adrienne first had her hair and make up done by Dion’s South Salon on Main Street and then headed over to me to go through my complete clothing wardrobe.
I provide a variety of clothing for my mamas and generally mix a couple of the client’s items with selections from the studio’s wardrobe. Most of my clothing comes from local boutiques, Free People, and Anthropologie, which is just down the block from the studio. I also order many things online. Having various sizes and styles ensures I will have something on-hand to flatter all of my mamas.
Part of the session was taken at sunset in a field by my studio. Adrienne told me she wanted a flower crown for her session, so she arrived with a beautiful crown made for her by a A Village of Flowers in Nashville. My goal with every maternity session is to make my mamas feel as beautiful as I see them in this moment.
