Desert Maternity Session At The Lake

This desert maternity session at the lake lasted about an hour.

I wanted beautiful skies and light, so we started just before sunset and kept shooting just after the sun dipped down behind the mountains.

I always like to chat with my clients ahead of time about their hopes for the session. This particular client really wanted a desert landscape plus the lake environment, so that really helped in planning for the session. I shoot at this location often. It is a lake about 20 minutes from my home and clients often request it because of imagery they see on my website.

I love it because it offers both the beautiful desert landscape and the water.

I do a lot of hand editing to bring out the colors in the sky and the water. Lots and lots of layers! :)

My clients and I discuss clothing prior to each session. I like to see what they are comfortable wearing and then we work together to come up with options that best fit their needs. That may include some of my maternity dresses and/or their own clothing they bring to the session.
